What is an urban farm?
An urban farm is a plot used to grow, cultivate and distribute food in an urban area.
King Science and Technology Magnet is an urban middle school (grades 5-8) in Omaha, NE. The idea for urban farming stemmed from a service learning seminar through the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Three of KSTM's staff were in attendance and decided that we wanted to develop a sustainable, organic garden that would be tended to by our staff, students and parents.
This blog is here to document our journey as we begin the implementation of our garden. We are in the very early planning stages and are excited to watch our project grow.
